Before You Go to a Winnipeg Casino
This page covers the small things that matter before you leave the house. The age rule at the door comes first, then the ID you should carry. After that: the posted hours, a short winter checklist, and who to ask for help on the floor.

The Door Rule: 18 and ID
Casinos are age-restricted venues in Manitoba. No one under 18 may enter. In this province, gambling falls under Manitoba's Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority, known as the LGCA. It says staff cannot judge age by appearance. So carry valid ID, even if your grey hairs feel like proof enough.
Valid originals: passport, PAL or NEXUS card, driver's licence, Canadian Armed Forces ID, Manitoba ID card, MMF Citizenship Card, Secure Certificate of Indian Status. Two pieces of government ID also work, as long as one has a photo. The Casinos of Winnipeg take original documents only, and at McPhillips Station photos, scans and photocopies are not accepted.

A Short Checklist Before You Leave
- Check the posted hours on each venue page of this guide, checked October 10, 2026. Around holidays, check the venue's own site too, since holiday hours can differ.
- Carry valid ID, even if you are sure you look old enough.
- Before you go out, settle on a budget and an hour to start for home.
- Settle who drives home before the evening starts. Never drive after drinking, and keep another way home in mind.
- Dress for the walk from the parking lot. In a Winnipeg winter, that short stretch earns a proper coat, a hat and mitts.

Help on the Floor
At McPhillips Station and Club Regent, GameSense Advisors are available between 2 and 10 p.m. daily. You can also call the GameSense Info Centre at 204-985-0419.
Both rooms are run by Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries, which states neither offers a mobile app or online gaming. It has warned of a fraudulent Club Regent app advertised on Facebook, so skip any app using that name.

Questions
What ID should you bring to a Winnipeg casino?
Bring original ID to the door, because the LGCA says staff cannot judge age by appearance. Only original documents are taken at the casinos, with a passport, Manitoba ID card or driver's licence among them. Two pieces of government ID also work, as long as one has a photo. Photocopies are not accepted.
Can a 17-year-old go in with an adult?
No, coming with an adult does not change the rule. Casinos in Manitoba are age-restricted, and no one under 18 may enter.
Where can you check opening hours?
Each venue page on this guide gives the hours the venue posts on its own site, checked October 10, 2026. Hours on holidays may not match, so look at the venue's site yourself before any holiday outing.
